Bio
Oriani wrote fiction and historical-political works on Italy’s development and national life. His death in 1909 preceded the council movement, so the quotation in L’Ordine Nuovo is a posthumous selection rather than a contribution. His subsequent reception included nationalist and Fascist appropriation; that later reception does not determine the purpose of this 1920 quotation.
