Bio: Viglongo joined the socialist youth movement at fifteen and became a close collaborator of Gramsci. After wartime military service he reported on labor affairs for the Turin Avanti! and contributed to the weekly L’Ordine Nuovo. His 1919 article on new institutions records the Fiat-Centro departmental elections and argues for voting rights for all workers. He subsequently worked on the daily L’Ordine Nuovo and published L’operaio agricolo in 1922. Arrested in 1923, he later left the Communist Party and entered the telephone industry, directing I Telefoni d’Italia from 1925.
