- Bio
- Ransome went to Russia with an interest in folklore and became a reporter of the revolution, gaining access to leading Bolsheviks. His conversations and institutional reports presented Russian developments to English-speaking readers and circulated in translation. L’Ordine Nuovo reproduced two signed reports in September 1919, including conversations with Lenin dated March and an interview with the labour commissar. He married Evgenia Shelepina and returned to England in 1924, continuing his literary and journalistic career.
