Bio
Seassaro was a Milan lawyer of Catholic formation who became a socialist during the First World War. Writing as Caesar, he contributed a series on a projected socialist army to L’Ordine Nuovo in 1919. He helped organize the proletarian veterans’ movement and joined the Communist Party of Italy at its foundation in 1921. Later that year he worked on Il Lavoratore in Trieste and went to Fiume for communist organizational work, dying there in November.

Other Notes
The consulted accounts do not securely settle his exact birth date or death day. Caesar is not the unidentified Il combattente contributor. Issue I.4, pp.[I]29-30 establishes the military contribution, not service as a factory delegate. The editorial footnote to I.8, L’esercito socialista — I mezzi, identifies his 1915 Critica Sociale essay and says he moved from national-democratic sympathies into the Socialist Party early in the war. This is the journal’s contemporary biographical testimony. In I.24, p.185, footnote 1, Caesar explicitly states that he practices law to earn a living while preferring study and publicistic work. His proposal for councils to provide legal education (pp.185–186) does not establish that such services already operated.
