Bio
Rappoport was a Russian-born socialist who settled in France and became an active Marxist publicist. He opposed the wartime Union sacrée and supported the internationalist opposition to the war. In 1920 he campaigned for affiliation to the Communist International and participated in the Tours congress that founded the French Communist Party. He served on its directing committee until 1922 and continued working as a communist journalist after losing leadership responsibilities.
