- Chauvelon wrote on socialism and the war in Le Progrès, moving toward opposition to the war and support for the Russian Revolution. In 1918–1919 he advocated adherence to a new Communist International. He participated in communist organizing around Raymond Péricat and subsequently contributed to Le Soviet. His 1920 contribution to L’Ordine Nuovo examines the strengths and theoretical weaknesses of German Spartacism.
