Bio
Fournière combined socialist journalism, teaching and political activity, and represented the Aisne in the Chamber of Deputies from 1898 to 1902. He directed La Revue socialiste from 1905 and promoted cooperation and the study of workers’ associations. His work on cooperation remained active in 1910–1913, before his death in 1914. L’Ordine Nuovo’s 1919 editors adapted his 1887 constitutional scheme as material for studying a socialist order, while explicitly warning that some details were outdated.

Other Notes
The death date follows the BnF authority, which gives 4 January; the older French parliamentary biographical dictionary gives 6 January 1914. No role held in 1919–1920 is invented. The unsigned editorial introduction to his reprinted text is not his own contribution.
