- Bio
- Bartalini combined socialist activism with antimilitarist publishing and founded La Pace in 1903. As director of Piombino’s technical school he experimented with voluntary discipline, independent inquiry and close knowledge of individual pupils. His report published in L’Ordine Nuovo in 1919 also describes the staffing and classroom constraints that limited those methods. He joined the Communist Party in 1922 and left Italy after arrest in 1923, beginning a prolonged exile.

- Other Notes
- The issue directly establishes his school appointment and expands the E. Bartalini signature to Ezio. Council-delegate status remains unknown; later provincial or parliamentary office is not treated as a factory mandate. His 18 October 1919 installment describes using pupil biographical cards in his school and proposes reporting findings to Piombino’s municipal and health authorities; it distinguishes early results from planned longitudinal observation.
