Bio
Liebknecht became a prominent antimilitarist in German socialism and opposed further war credits in the Reichstag in December 1914. Imprisoned after his antiwar activity in 1916, he was released in October 1918. He then led the Spartacus League with Luxemburg, coedited Die Rote Fahne, and helped found the KPD. Soldiers murdered him in Berlin on 15 January 1919.
