Bio
Einaudi combined economic scholarship with journalism and public intervention in liberal politics. He became a senator in 1919 and wrote on labor organization and economic policy. In May 1920 L’Ordine Nuovo reproduced his favorable assessment of established union organizers in contrast to revolutionary currents. His later opposition to Fascism interrupted his journalistic activity; he subsequently became president of the Italian Republic.
