Bio
Luxemburg opposed militarism and the wartime course of German social democracy, spending much of the war in prison. Released in November 1918, she edited Die Rote Fahne and argued for council government. She participated in the founding of the KPD at the turn of 1918–1919. Soldiers murdered her in Berlin on 15 January 1919.
