Bio: Valentino Barbiera signed a letter published in the Posta dell’Ordine Nuovo rubric in issue I.29. Referring to himself and his workshop companions as workers, he requested schools and guidance that would develop workers’ ability to think, reflect and discuss. He connected cultural preparation with council organization and the struggle for productive power, without identifying a factory or elected office. In issue I.39 he signs as a workshop technician and analyzes tensions between technicians and workers in factory councils, recalling the technicians’ April 1919 strike and subsequent organizational difficulties.
